Lea Pollak

Head Supplements, Biologically Active and Psychoactive Substances, Croatian National Institute of Public Health

 

Dr. Lea Pollak is the Head of the Department of Food Supplements, Biologically and Psychoactive Substances at the Croatian Institute of Public Health. She holds a master’s and PhD in Nutrition. She is involved in analytical evaluation, consulting, review and labelling of food supplements, including nutritional and health claims, taking into account national and European legislation. She also covers the field of fortified foods, novel foods, biologically active and psychoactive substances. She is a national expert and member of the European Working Group on Novel Foods at the European Commission and was a scientific expert at the European Food Safety Authority in the field of novel foods. She is a member of national scientific committees at the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Croatian Food Safety Agency. She is also a lecturer at the University of Zagreb as a scientific assistant and lecturer at the University Of Applied Sciences Of Health Sciences.
