PRISA – The Romanian Food Supplements Industry Association is the first organization in Romania exclusively dedicated to the food supplements industry. Founded in 2000 and holding patronage status since 2011, PRISA brings together companies representing around 40% of the market.
The association promotes responsible practices through self-regulation tools such as its Code of Ethics and Code of Best Practices for labelling and advertising.
It plays an active role in shaping public policy by collaborating with national and European authorities to ensure balanced, science-based regulation.
PRISA also contributes to international dialogue on food supplements as a member of Food Supplements Europe (FSE) and the International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement Associations (IADSA), aligning Romanian industry practices with global standards.
In 2024, PRISA launched the national campaign “First Information, then Food Supplements” to support informed consumer choices through the platform www.infosuplimente.ro.
Gerald Flintoacă Filip is an experienced professional in regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and the development of science-based policies that support consumer safety and trust in Romania. As founder and General Secretary of PRISA, he actively contributes to shaping both national and European food supplement regulations and facilitates collaboration between industry representatives, regulatory authorities, and consumers, aligning policy efforts with public health priorities and industry realities.
